Sometimes, A part of me dreams of running away on an adventure by myself…so ready to experience new things. Other parts of me are excited to stay. Both can exist. Humans have the capacity to feel multiple conflicting emotions simultaneously. We are made up of many parts and often our parts are polarized. Parts of me love being polyamorous and parts of me prefer monogamy. I’m all over the place, embracing all of it. so… one night I was in bed with a girl who was fawning over my husband saying how fucking great he is. Yack. A part of me was so sick of this man and wanted to run. Hence the opening line of this song…. “Everybody dreams of what I have, I dream of running away…” 🌸 and remember at the same time, another part of me was so fucking grateful to witness someone admiring this man I’m partnered with. She reminded me to notice and celebrate the wonderful things about him. She reminded me to want what I have. Later in the song I end up singing , “I’m still here” over and over.
