What do you think of this..: “Empathy is one of the most complex forms of attention we have — and the most precious. .. Many of the most important advances in human history have been advances in empathy.” Often when people talk to me, I’m listening deeply, watching their facial expressions and leaning into the subtle tones in their voice. I watch where their eyes go. It’s not uncommon that someone says to me, “I love talking to you. It feels like therapy. I don’t normally open up like this. You make it so easy to share.” I’m not trying to do anything apart from genuinely listen, observe, receive and believe what they are sharing. From there, I can always ask questions with humble curiosity to clarify and sometimes courageous challenge the human before me. I don’t challenge to win. I question to explore with them. If we are all searching within ourselves for answers and we only trust the answers that emerge from within ourselves, may our conversations with one another be a peaceful light that illuminates with love. 🌻 Love, Cha
