Added 2021-10-20 16:44:48 +0000 UTCDaydreaming about this time time of year while I was pregnant 👻 outgrown sweaters and jackets that wouldn’t zip over my belly… I ended up buying an oversized sweater to wear out and it fit the way a regular sized one would with my huge belly 🤪 where I worked, I was the opening barista. So I was often up and out around 3:30am, waddling around my coffee shop and bumping into counters scrabbling to get everything ready. I’m sure it was quite a sight. On the plus side, my coworkers never let me carry multiple gallons of milk because I wasn’t allowed to carry heavy things! Oh and limiting my caffeine intake? Nah, that never happened lol. Already being a mom AND waking up at 3 in the morning? I had to!! One of my favorite things about working in a coffee shop was the free coffee so you’d often find me on my breaks just sitting, resting my legs, rubbing my huge belly while sipping a hot latte 🤤 I really was a pampered little preggo, and dress code didn’t completely apply to me since I was rapidly outgrowing my clothes. Leggings and dresses were my go-to. still performed my tasks amazingly. Even if I was grunting and groaning throughout my shifts! Even squishing my belly into the tables in the cafe while attempting to give them wipe downs. 😂 my belly was counter-level because I’m so short. There was a point during my pregnancy when I was able to just rest my whole belly on the counter for brief relief. those days were the best and I think customers are generally nicer to the pregnant ladies. It was pretty funny though. My belly was so freaking huge, by the time I was six months pregnant, people were already telling me I look like I was about to burst and asked me when I was going to go on my maternity leave! It’s crazy thinking back how my first two pregnancies I was working in the food service industry both times. The next time I get pregnant, I 100% just want to devote my energy to my home/family and focus on being a beautiful pregnant goddess.
