This limited mobility can manifest in compensations up or down the chain, which is why people often have neck and low back pain! . Your thoracic spine--also known as your mid-back--is comprised of 12 vertebrae (T1-T12) and is responsible for about 35 degrees of rotation to each side.

This number is just a norm and can vary from person to person. The amount of rotation you have depends significantly on your activity. For example, if you play golf or baseball you may have more rotation to one side than the other. .

Hi, I’m Rhy, and my journey is one of resilience, self-discovery, and the pursuit of truth. I’m a yoga teacher and wellbeing consultant who’s worked hard to reclaim my voice and embrace my authentic self. Yoga saved my life—it gave me a way to connect with my breath, balance my mind, and find peace in chaos. It taught me to move through life with purpose and courage. I share my practices, not as a prescription for anyone, but as an invitation to explore yourself, your body, and your truth.

Why is nudity so often linked with shame and judgment?

Why, when a woman shows her body, is there an instant rush to judge? We live in a world where sex is everywhere, yet we’re expected to keep it hidden, to treat it as something shameful—even though it’s a natural part of life that we all experience.

Why is it that we are born naked, yet we are taught that being naked as adults could cost us our jobs, damage our reputation, or be labeled as inappropriate?

Think about it: we all experience moments of nudity in our daily lives—when we shower, when we change clothes, when we connect intimately with others. We create life through sex, we experience love and connection through touch, yet so much stigma still surrounds these very human experiences.

Why is there still so much judgment? Why does nudity, something so natural, carry such weight? Is it the fear of vulnerability? The discomfort with what society deems “acceptable”?

Maybe it’s time to challenge these beliefs and ask ourselves: are we perpetuating the cycle of shame, or are we open to seeing the body for what it truly is—a vessel for life, love, and connection?

It’s worth reflecting on: Why do we let these judgments continue, and how can we begin to break down these barriers?

I’ve learned that being näked is often looked down upon by many. Recently, a friend told me I was a terrible person for teaching näked yoga.

Honestly, I was hurt. When I think of “terrible humans,” I think of those who hurt, abüse, manipulate, or kill others—not someone simply choosing to be näked.

I was told that sharing your body is intimate and should be done privately. But to me, intimacy isn’t just about being näked; it’s about knowing someone deeply—what breaks or makes them, sharing a touch that no one else can, seeing them at their most vulnerable, understanding their dreams and helping them come alive. Real intimacy is about trust and connection, far beyond physical nudity.

The relationship between nüdity and sexuality can be complex. Nüdity often leads to sexual arousal, which is why indecent exposure is considered a crime. Yet, being näked is a natural human trait—humans are one of the only primates to evolve without significant body hair.

Human sexuality encompasses much more than just physical attraction; it’s deeply connected to our psychological and social experiences. In many societies, nüdity and sexuality are closely linked, while in others, nudity is seen as natural in various settings, such as beaches or spas. These cultural differences can create misunderstandings and confusion, but at the core, the meaning of nüdity is fluid, shaped by our perspectives and the context in which we experience it.
